    These Regulations give further effect in Irish law to Article 3 of Directive No. 2011/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment, They amend Part 2 of Schedule 5 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to include all deep drilling within the scope of the Annex to the Directive. This Schedule sets out the developments/activities that may require environmental impact assessment in relation to consents under the Planning and Development Act 2000.

    These Regulations give effect in Irish law to Directive No. 2014/89/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for maritime spatial planning by establishing the necessary legal basis for the Minister to implement maritime spatial planning. The Regulations designate the Minister as the competent authority for the purposes of the Directive and provide the broad framework within which the Minister will implement maritime spatial planning.

    These Regulations amend the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations 2014 so as to give effect to the Commission Implementing Decision on granting a derogation requested by Ireland pursuant to Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources. They also make technical amendments to sections 17 and 26 of the principal Regulations and insert a new Part (7) on implementation of the Commission Decision.

    These Regulations give effect to Ireland's 4th Nitrates Action Programme, and provide statutory support for good agricultural practice to protect waters against pollution from agricultural sources and include measures such as periods when land application of fertilisers is prohibited, limits on the land application of fertilisers, storage requirements for livestock manure, and monitoring of the effectiveness of the measures in terms of agricultural practice and impact on water quality.

    These Regulations amend the European Union (Household Food Waste and Bio-waste) Regulations 2013, which promote the segregation and recovery of household food waste. They clarify what constitutes an offence under the Regulations, dealing with powers of authorised persons and deleting Regulation 7 (b) which concerns the use of macerators. They also insert the definition of "local authority".

    These Regulations promote the segregation and recovery of household food waste. They place obligations: a) on waste collectors to have a separate collection service for household food waste; and b) on the householders who produce food waste to segregate such waste and make it available for separate collection. Producers may alternatively compost the waste on the premises where it arises under specified conditions or take it to authorised facilities such as civic amenity sites, composting sites, anaerobic digestion sites or for incineration.

    These Regulations designate a coastal area as a Special Protection Area in accordance with Article 4 of Habitats Directive for protection purposes set out in Schedule 3 (coastal lagoons). The Minister shall, in accordance with the Regulations of 2011, establish and publish such particular conservation objectives as he or she, from time to time, considers necessary for the Special Area of Conservation with regard to the natural habitat type and animal and plant species specified in Schedule 3.

    The amendments of this Act to the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1997, the Foreshore Act, 1933, and the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968 concern the granting of a foreshore licence for aquaculture purposes under the Act of 1933, or a fish culture licence under section 15 of Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1997. These licences shall be deemed to an aquaculture licence granted under the Fisheries (Amendment) Act of 1997. Specific conditions are set out for the procedures of granting a foreshore licence deemed to be an aquaculture licence under the 1997 Act.

    An Act to make provision for the granting of leases and licences in respect of foreshore belonging to Saorstát Eireann and to amend generally the law relating to foreshore and the seashore.

    Section 2 allows the Minister to grant leases on the foreshore in the public interest. "Foreshore" means the bed and shore, below the line of high water of ordinary or medium tides, of the sea and of every tidal river and tidal estuary and of every channel, creek and bay of the sea or of any such river or estuary. Every lease shall contain prescribed clauses or covenants as listed in section 2.
