The Act ensures nature and environment are protected so that society can develop on a sustainable basis for human, animal and animal living conditions. It applies to the regulation of all kind of pollution and aims to approve environmentally friendly procedures in the production and disposal of products (solid, liquid or gaseous substances) which may be contaminate air, water or soil.
The purpose of the Act is to help to protect nature and environment in order for society to develop on a sustainable and to preserve animal and plant life. It applies to all activities in relation to pollution, such as deployment of solid, liquid or gaseous substances; air, water, noise, soil and subsoil pollution; husbandry, pests and other factors causing hygienic problems to the environment.
The Act is divided into 14 Chapters: Scope etc. (1); General provisions (2); Protection of soil and groundwater (3); Protection of surface waters (4); Polluting activities (5); Waste (6); Use of environmentally friendly technologies (7); Expropriation (8); Supervision (9); Administrative provisions (10); Appeals and inquiries (11); Environment Appeals Board (12); Penalties (13); Entry into force and transitional provisions (14).
The Act aims to establish a framework for the protection of surface and groundwater and for planning within the international nature protection areas. The Minister of Environment and Food shall regulate provisions for the international water districts and for each of them, there must be a water level. Each river district shall have a protection area in order to allow shellfish (bivalve and snails molluscs) life and growth. The Environment and Food Minister designates international nature conservation areas on land and at sea.CONSOLIDATION: Act No.

The scope of this Act is to protect and develop cultivation of arable lands with specific regard to requirements of environment protection and to safeguard and enhance profitable farming.Agricultural properties shall be subject to conditions of farming as specified in the present Act. Agricultural properties shall be real property registered as such in the register ("matrikle").
