La dégradation des terres est l'un des principaux déclencheurs de la migration en Asie centrale, confirme une nouvelle étude publiée par l'UNCCD ce mois-ci. Dans la région où la sécheresse et la désertification causent des pertes annuelles d'environ 6 milliards de dollars, le nombre de personnes qui migrent chaque année à la recherche de travail s'élève à 2,5 à 4,3 millions, soit 10 à 15 % de la population économiquement active.
