Welcome to MLIKE on Land Portal!
MLIKE is a multi-organisational interactive and multi-facted platform to facilitate information-sharing, learning, analysis, dialogue and problem-solving on land issues, between a wide range of people and organizations, in the Mekong region. This MLIKE page on Land Portal links us to the broader international land community.
We aim to contribute to fair, equitable and sustainable solutions to improve land tenure security for family farmers and ethnic minorities in order to support durable economic development and poverty reduction.
Our dedicated website (now in testing) and related social media supports researchers, entrepreneurs, technical officers, civil society groups, land owners, and land activists with interests in the Mekong Region to learn from one other and comprehend a diversity of land interests and perspectives. This will deepen mutual understanding, and contribute to innovative, sustainable and fair solutions to land-related problems, while supporting practical ways for people to collaborate, even across borders.
By also participating in and contributing to the Land Portal, we aim to connect our regional users to the world's largest repository of land-related materials. The Land Portal also provides a venue for co-hosting public and open dialogues that are of interest at both the Mekong Regional and international levels. We are keen to learn from and exchange ideas with land experts and activists around the world.
The Mekong Land Information and Knowledge Exchange (MLIKE) platform is a mandated project of the Government of Switzerland, through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). It is the product of more than a year of consultations and participatory design with a wide range of people and groups involved in land issues in the Mekong region.
MLIKE is managed by The Mekong Region Land Governance (MRLG), a project of the Government of Switzerland, through
the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), with co-financing from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Government of Luxembourg. The MRLG project supports land tenure security of smallholder farmers. It is implemented by Land Equity International (LEI) in partnershipwith Group de Recherché et d’ Echanges (GRET) and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fűr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
This MLIKE page on Land Portal soft-launched on 25 May 2017. The dedicated regional platform is still in development and undergoing testing, to be launched in 2018.
