The Vision of the present Land Policy in Cambodia is to administer, manage, use and distribute land in equitable, transparent, efficient and sustainable manner in order to contribute to achieving national goals of poverty alleviation, ensuring food security, national resources and environmental protection, national defence and socio-economic development in the context of market economy.
This Decree prescribes the procedures for exchange, transfer, lease, sublease and inheritance of land-use rights as well as mortgages and as capital contributions in the form of land-use rights. Article 3 specifies documents required for the exercise of a land-use right.
The Act amends the First Schedule to the Constitution, in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of Assam (art. 3a), in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of West Bengal (3b), in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of Meghalaya (3c), in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of Tripura (3d).
The National Land Use Policy aims at enhancing people’s food security, water resource development, improvement of transportation, economic and business development, and protection of environment and cultural heritage.
This Act provides for the protection of the tenant cultivator's rights from any abuse or prevarication by the landowner.
