This paper provides a systematic basis, hitherto missing in the current scholarship, to quantify land transfers in Zimbabwe after 1980. It uses title deed information to determine year of sale via a number of sources.
Irrigation development in Sub-Saharan Africa has lagged significantly behind that in other developing countries. Consequently, economic development and food security are also lagging behind. Since the mid-2000s there has been a resurgence in the willingness to invest in irrigation, and Sub-Saharan Africa has the largest potential of any developing region to benefit from it.
The CPF 2016-2020 is aligned to the Government of Zimbabwe’s (GoZ) priorities which are aimed at providing an enabling environment for sustainable economic empowerment and social transformation. The key priority pillars for attaining this are: i) Food Security and Nutrition, ii) Social Services and Poverty Eradication, iii) Infrastructure and Utilities and iv) Value Addition and Beneficiation.

The publication contains the 2016-2020 Country Programming Framework which maps out priority areas to guide the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ collaborative efforts and support to the Government of Zimbabwe in the areas of food and nutrition, agriculture, natural resources management and rural development.
