These Regulations implement the Land Administration Act 1997.The Regulations provide for the delegation under section 9(1) of powers conferred or duties imposed by the Act to convey or transfer the fee simple in Crown land. The Regulations set out procedures to be followed by a local government before making a request for the acquisition of alienated land, private roads, alienated land in a townsite, etc.; and procedures to be followed by the Minister for the purposes of sections 56, 58, 59, 62 and 74.The Regulations further provide for: pastoral leases; the manner in which surveys of land are to be carried out; matters relating to the practice and procedure of the advisory panel, and for members and staff remuneration; etc.
