This Government Decree establishes that Agency for Technical Supervision shall be an administrative body subordinated to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure responsible for implementation of state policy in the areas pertaining to its competence. The Agency's mission is to ensure the implementation of state policy in the spheres of its competence in the order and in the limits established by the regulatory framework. The Agency shall perform the functions established by this Provision in the following areas: (a) safety of hazardous production facilities; (b) construction and urban development; (c) market supervision in the field of building materials and hazardous production equipment/facilities; (d) fire safety and civil protection; (e) safety of work; (f) geodesy and cartography; (g) protection of consumer rights in the field of industrial safety and construction; and (h) compliance with licensing conditions in the relevant field. In the sphere of geodesy and cartography the Agency participates and provides methodological and technical support in the establishment, mapping and demarcation of the state border of the Republic of Moldova, the change of geographical names of objects, as well as the boundaries of administrative-territorial units, ensures in accordance with the established modalities their complete and correct graphic representation on maps.
