Gillin

Kramer Gillin is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and works as an independent consultant for international development organizations.

In his academic work on land tenure and resource governance, he focuses on pastoralism, legal pluralism, land reforms and transition economies, and community-based dispute resolution. His regional focus is Central Asia, especially Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

As a consultant, he specializes in thought leadership and articulating strategies and approaches and has worked on a wide range of sectors, including conflict, governance, environment, climate change, COVID response, pastoralism, and land & property.
