    Though both elected area representative PUP’s Francis Fonseca and UDP standard bearer Orson Elrington both claim to represent the people, the residents of the disputed 1.6 acres have told Love News that Fonseca is their attorney. While the parties are invested in Freetown, the people on the ground continue to live in homes that they don’t know if they will still be there when they return home.

    "The Belize Social Investment (BS"IF)  was incorporated in 1996 as a Statutory Body through the  Belize Social Investment Fund Act.   According to the Act, “The Fund shall, subject to the availability of resources, approve projects and programmes and provide, either wholly or partially, financial and technical assistance to community groups with development goals, and local government organizations, for the execution of such projects or programmes which will serve to provide basic services to the most severely affected groups in the country.”"

Its members include Belize, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Venezuela, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the State of Acre in Brazil.
