The University of Huddersfield (informally Huddersfield University) is a public university located in Huddersfield. West Yorkshire, England. It has been a university since 1992, but has its origins in a series of institutions dating back to the 19th century. It has made teaching quality a particular focus of its activities, winning the inaugural Higher Education Academy Global Teaching Excellence Award, and achieving a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Gold Award, both in 2017.
 

The University of East London (UEL) is a public university in the London Borough of Newham, London, England, based at three campuses in Stratford and Docklands, following the opening of University Square Stratford in September 2013. The university's roots can be traced back to 1892 when the West Ham Technical Institute was established. It gained university status in 1992.

As of October 2015 it has more than 19,000 students from 120 countries.

The British Academy is the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – the study of peoples, cultures and societies, past, present and future. Officially established in 2016, we are an open-access publisher, registered and based in the UK, with a branch office in Malaysia. Our publications adhere strictly to international publishing norms and ethical guidelines, to ensure and assure only original and quality works are published.

We’re a charity founded in 1895 by three people who saw the importance of our nation’s heritage and open spaces and wanted to preserve them for everyone to enjoy.  More than 120 years later, these values are still at the heart of everything we do. We look after special places throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland for ever, for everyone.

As a charity we rely for income on membership fees, donations and legacies, and revenue raised from our commercial operations.

What we do

We are reminded on a daily basis that the natural environment in which we live is vitally important for our well-being, whether it is in the form of climate change, global warming, declining fertility or dwindling natural resources.

ACTSA: Action for Southern Africa is the successor organisation to the Anti-Apartheid Movement in the United Kingdom. Established in 1994, ACTSA has since been campaigning with the people of southern Africa as they strive to build a better future; working for peace, democracy and development across the region. It is a coalition member of the Stop AIDS Campaign, the Trade Justice Movement, and Stop Climate Chaos.

The United Kingdom has historically played a leading role in developing parliamentary democracy and in advancing literature and science. At its zenith in the 19th century, the British Empire stretched over one-fourth of the earth's surface. The first half of the 20th century saw the UK's strength seriously depleted in two world wars and the Irish Republic's withdrawal from the union. The second half witnessed the dismantling of the Empire and the UK rebuilding itself into a modern and prosperous European nation.

The Geological Society of London is the UK national society for geoscience, providing support to over 10,000 members in the UK and overseas. Founded in 1807, we are the oldest geological society in the world.
