Nairobi — Edible oil manufacturer Bidco has dismissed compensation claims raised by Kalangala farmers' lobby saying its involvement in Uganda's palm oil development project does not include land transaction.
In a letter addressed to banks, lawyers and international organisations, Bidco's cheif executive Vimal Shah said the land on which its plantation stands was properly acquired by the Ugandan government.

Greenpeace publie « Menaces sur les forêts africaines », une enquête sur les plantations de la Socfin, détenue à 38,75% par le groupe Bolloré, et exhorte son PDG Vincent Bolloré à s’engager immédiatement contre la déforestation.
Depuis sa création en 1964, le Salon International de l'Agriculture est devenu la plus grande manifestation agricole française. Avec plus de 1000 exposants originaires d'une quarantaine de pays et 3000 animaux présentés, le salon est une véritable fenêtre ouverte sur l'agriculture dans toute sa diversité.
