    This participatory video titled “We Can” was filmed, produced, and directed by a group of 11 farmers and community members from Damolgo and Sekoti, Ghana. With this video they want to communicate the message: ‘we can use our combined knowledge to address the land management challenges we face.’ The film features farmers describing the importance of trees, stone bunds, contour planting and vetiver grass strips, mulching and manuring and the negative effects of bush burning.

    For the past decade, GIZ has supported participatory land use planning, land registration and land titling as a vehicle for sustainable rural development in Lao PDR. Following a number of predecessor programmes, the current Land Program (including Land Management and Decentralized Planning (LMDP) and Enhanced Land Tenure Security (ELTeS) projects) is active in the provinces of Luang Namtha, Sayabouri, Huaphan and Khammouane. This impact study focussed on some of the intermediary and longer-term changes that GIZ’s work in the land sector has been aiming to bring about in Laos.

This article provides an in-depth analysis of Nigeria’s laws on expropriation and the processes of acquiring land and compensating landholders in the Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ) case.     The Special Rapporteur on adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living, Raquel Rolnik, undertook an official visit to the World Bank Group from 26 October to 1 November 2010. In this 2013 report, she presents her observations and recommendations on the World Bank‟s safeguard policies, particularly on the right to adequate housing, in the context of its current two-year consultative process to review and update its environmental and social safeguard policies.

    Twenty years after the Paris Peace Agreements, the Special Rapporteur takes stock of progress in Cambodia's human rights situation, with particular emphasis on land issues and land concessions. The report is based on missions to Cambodia in December 2011 and May 2012. The first enabled a human rights assessment of State institutions relevant to the electoral process in Cambodia, including the laws, policies and practices applicable to elections.

    This 2012 report is an assessment of the human rights impact of economic land concessions (ELCs) and other land concessions and major development projects in Cambodia. It includes not only an analysis of concessions pertaining to agroindustry (for example, rubber, sugar, acacia and cassava plantations), but also to concessions for mining, oil and gas, forestry, and concessions for the purposes of tourism, property development, and large scale infrastructure, such as hydropower dams.
