Le Sénégal et la FAO entretiennent un partenariat dynamique depuis plusieurs décennies, avec plus de 200 interventions réalisées depuis le milieu des années 90. L’objectif de la Représentation de la FAO au Sénégal est de contribuer à l’effort national de développement agricole et rural pour atteindre une sécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle durable. L’équipe de la FAO œuvre également pour le développement de moyens d’existence résilients face aux crises, à travers l’Equipe sous-régionale Résilience pour l’Afrique de l’Ouest/Sahel (REOWA), basée à Dakar.

Cooperation between Togo and FAO began with an inventory of land and water resources in 1960, the year Togo country joined the Organization. A representation was opened in 1980, after which the partnership focused on agricultural development, environmental protection and natural resource management. Along with a number of development projects, FAO has supported institutional reform and assisted with the National Agricultural Investment and Food Security Plans. Largely dependent on rain-fed agriculture, Togo is vulnerable to climate change largely rain.

This poster illustrates the findings of a situational analysis on post-harvest systems conducted in 2013 and 2014 in the Volta Basin, a shared water body in West Africa through the NEPAD-FAO Fish Programme (NFFP), within the framework of a collaborative undertaking between FAO, the Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA) of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
