This Act provides with respect to the administration of estates of deceased persons and the depository of wills. The High Court shall have jurisdiction in all matters relating to probate and the administration of deceased's estates, with power to grant probates of wills and letters of administration to the estates of deceased persons and to alter or revoke such grants.

With regard to the real and personal estate of every person dying after the commencement of this Act, there shall be abolished: (a) all existing modes, rules and canons of descent, and of devolution by special occupancy or otherwise, of real estate, or of personal estate; (b) tenancy by the curtesy; (c) dower.

This Act provides for the administration of estates of persons that die intestate. When a person dies intestate leaving any real property of whatsoever nature of which the intestate might have disposed of by will, such real property shall for the purposes of ad ministration be deemed to be part of the personal estate of the said intestate and shall be administered accordingly.

This Law amends Law No. 5403 on Soil Preservation and Land Utilization with several minor changes. This Law adds Articles 8A to 8K regarding agricultural land sizes and transfer of inherited agricultural lands. This Law repeals the last sentence of Paragraph 5 of Article 13 of Law No. 3083 on land reform regarding rearrangement of land in irrigated areas.

This Law provides with respect to inheritance and transfer of small estates (as defined). and provides that the Administration of Estate Law, Probate rules, or any other law or rules of court under which grant of Letters of Administration is required for payment of money from the estate of deceased persons shall cease to apply to small estates except as provided in this Law.

This Law stipulates that notwithstanding any native law or custom to the contrary a female person has the right to acquire and own property and shall share in the intestate estate of her deceased father, mother or husband in accordance with the provisions of this Law. Females may be the administrator or one of the administrators of her fathers, mothers or husbands estate.
