Article 12 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Land plots and forest plots pertaining to public ownership shall be allotted to legal persons and individual entrepreneurs, which have concluded hunting management contracts, in accordance with land and forest legislation, if not otherwise envisaged by the acting federal legislation”.

Amends: Regional Law No. 11-OZ “On hunting and conservation of hunting resources”. (2010-02-25)

One of the main causes of tropical forest loss is conversion to agriculture, which is constantly increasing as a dominant land cover in the tropics. The loss of forests greatly affects biodiversity and ecosystem services. This paper assesses the economic return from increasing tree cover in agricultural landscapes in two tropical locations, West Java, Indonesia and eastern Bangladesh. Agroforestry systems are compared with subsistence seasonal food-crop-based agricultural systems.

The question of how developing countries like Peru can participate effectively in the REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) policy initiative of the United Nations has been the focus of considerable debate recently. The aim of this study was to detect the main challenges associated with monitoring deforestation and forest degradation and also to analyze the policy challenges associated with implementing REDD in Peru.

This note presents highlights and recent trends in data for each of the main product groups, as well as a short summary of recent changes or improvements in statistics.

The State of the World’s Forests (SOFO) 2016 shows that it is possible to increase agricultural productivity and food security while halting or even reversing deforestation, highlighting the successful efforts of Costa Rica, Chile, the Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Tunisia and Viet Nam.
