Occupants’ Opinions On Housing Conditions: The Case Of Affordable Housing Schemes In Enugu, Nigeria Turning Into Slums

december, 2022
Nigeria

Context and backgroundTypical of an urban character, constant population growth in Enugu necessitated the need to provide adequate housing to the teeming population. In addition to the housing provision, a decent mass housing project was developed through proper spatial planning. In addition, the Enugu population, which is predominantly low-income, requires that such decent housing be made affordable.

Modeling Wheat Yield By Using Phenologycal Metrics Derived From Sentinel2 In Arid And Semi-Arid Regions- A Case Study In Morocco-

United States of America

ABSTRACT  Context and background Wheat is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world and has always been one of the most important staples for millions of people around the world and especially in North Africa, where wheat is the most used crop for typical food industry.

Context and objectives:Climate extremes associated with wet and dry conditions are one of the main causal elements of the disasters that adversely impact Uganda`s agriculturally based economy. However, the lack of reliable forecast records for wet and dry conditions remains a challenge at a local scale.

Modélisation Du Rendement Du Blé À L'Échelle Parcellaire En Zone Semi-Aride Du Maroc : Apport De La Télédétection Spatiale Et De L’Intelligence Artificielle

Context and Background Estimating cereal yields in Morocco is still based on the traditional statistical method known as "CCE" crop cutting, which is objective but tedious and requires a lot of logistics, despite the fact that in 2012 a system for predicting cereal yields in Morocco called "CGMS_MA" was introduced to support this method; this system does not allow yields to be estimated at plot level, given the coarse resolution of the integrated satellite images (NDVI_AVHR), which is 1.1km.

Geospatial Data Integration For Intelligent Transportation Systems: A Review Of The State Of The Art Of Spatio-Temporal Traffic Forecasting

december, 2022
Global

Context and background:Intelligent transportation is a dynamic field focused on enhancing travel efficiency, reducing congestion, and increasing convenience. Central to this domain is the collection and analysis of spatio-temporal data, enabling precise traffic flow predictions and the development of intelligent traffic management systems. Integrating geospatial data, encompassing road topology and proximity to public infrastructure and transportation services, presents a significant challenge in designing effective intelligent transportation systems.

Japan

Context and backgroundThe Polytechnic University of Valencia UPV is collaborating with Valencia City Council in Spain, as part of the European GrowGreen project, to carry out a baseline study of the neighborhood, with the aim of improving the well-being of citizens and enhancing the green infrastructure of the Benicalap district.Goal and Objectives:In this research, monthly climate data recordings are made between April 2018 and July 2012, to compare the effects of different vegetation in different areas of the Benicalap park, on the temperature inside the soil as a function of the seasons.

Infrastructural and Regulatory Bottlenecks for Intensification and Diversification of Regional Agricultural Trade and Value Addition in Ethiopia

december, 2022
Ethiopia

The purpose of this brief is to identify and summarize the critical bottlenecks related to the policy and regulatory environment, infrastructure, and public services that constrain the expansion and diversification of Ethiopia’s intra-regional trade and value addition. Unlike Africa’s trade with the rest of the world, which consists mainly of primary commodities, intra-regional agricultural trade on the continent is heavily dominated by processed products.

Zambia

The purpose of this brief is to identify and summarize the critical bottlenecks related to the policy and regulatory environment, infrastructure, and public services that constrain the expansion and diversification of Zambia’s intra-regional trade and value addition. Unlike Africa’s trade with the rest of the world which mainly consists of primary commodities, intra-regional agricultural trade in the continent is heavily dominated by processed products.

Greenhouse gas emission assessment methods, data sources and reporting processes in Vietnam

december, 2022
Global

Vietnam is both at risk from and contributing to climate change. The country is the 17th largest emitter of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions globally, with emissions reaching around 300.4 MtCO2eq in 2020, increasing to 344 MtCO2eq in 2022, and is projected to further increase to 515.8 MtCO2eq in 2030. This report provides an overview of GHG emissions, assessment methods, data sources, and reporting processes in Vietnam with a focus on the agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) sectors.
