Entre los grupos de personas defensoras más vulnerables, este documento se centra en dos de los reciben el mayor número de ataques en la actualidad: las y los operadores de justicia y quienes de enden la tierra y el territorio. La expulsión del comisionado Iván Velásquez y del organismo que presidía, la Comisión Internacional contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad de Guatemala (CICIG), supuso un duro golpe al sistema de justicia y es una muestra clara de la regresión que se vive en el país.

Uganda   has  been  struggling  to  maintain   a conventional (European-type) land administration system for a long time  but has faced many  challenges   including  lack of funding, inadequate skill force and long- winded procedures. Up to present, the country has only managed to record less than 20 per cent of the land rights. Similar circumstances can be found in many countries in the world. An often-cited estimate indicates that seventy percent of the world´s population is lacking security of tenure.

Este artigo apresenta uma análise etnográfica acerca das políticas do habitar entre o povo Wapichana segundo modos específicos de relações com lugares. Em seguida aborda como essas formas próprias de habitar entraram em relação com a agenda de gestão territorial e ambiental de terras indígenas no Brasil por meio da elaboração de um Plano de Gestão Territorial e Ambiental – PGTA. Ao trazer esse encontro, o objetivo é destacar algumas dificuldades de translação na comunicação intercultural.

No contexto de aumento de propostas de sistemas de pagamentos por serviços ambientais e também de reconhecimento crescente da contribuição dos povos tradicionais para a sociobiodiversidade e o combate às mudanças climáticas, esse artigo apresenta um processo em curso de identificação das contribuições socioambientais de povos tradicionais da Terra do Meio.

ABSTRACTED FROM PURPOSE OF THIS MISSION: The purpose of the mission was to gather accurate and up-to-date information from a range of sources about a number of issues concerning the treatment of Tamils including the government’s attitude to diaspora activities and the treatment of members of diaspora groups, in particular members of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE). The mission was also interested in gathering information about the treatment of members and former members of the Liberation Tamil Tigers of Eelam (LTTE).

Hybrid land tenure administration occurs in a number of South Africa’s state-subsidised housing projects and in the informal settlements from which the housing beneficiaries tend to be drawn. Ownership is the tenure form in most of these housing projects. Under ownership the law only recognises registered land transactions. Non-government tenure administration in Dunoon was organised by street and area committees that are part of the local South African National Civics Association (SANCO) branch, a community based organisation (CBO).

Land capital occupies a prominent place in production activities in Africa. In forestry companies, women workers of production excellence, do not enjoy the same rights as the male agent in terms of access to land. This article attempts to question the foundations of this societal injustice while highlighting the various shadows that overwhelm women's tenure security in the forest zone. The major goal is to study in the event of looking for sustainable, inclusive solutions.

In October 2016 the Liberia Land Authority (LLA|) was legislated as the Nation’s first one-stop-shop for land management and administration. The LLA has the statutory mandate to administer land administration across the nation. The Authority is charged with supporting the development of a National Land Use and Management Agenda.

Land regularization is an essential ingredient in the formalization on land rights and it plays an important role in improving tenure security of the urban poor. In order to facilitate the process of land regularization, there is need to have up to date spatial information on the settlements earmarked for the regularization process. Ground based survey methods have proved to be time consuming and costly. Thus there is need to adopt cost effective methodology in the acquisition of spatial data.
