Cees-Jan Nell uit Langbroek is één van de 48 deelnemers aan het project 'Duurzaam Bodembeheer', hoewel eerdere metingen uitwezen dat het met de N-kringloop op zijn bedrijf wel goed zit. Eigenlijk deed de veehouder dus al aan duurzaam bodembeheer. Zijn deelname aan het project moet ervoor zorgen dat hij meer grip krijgt op maatregelen om zijn goede resultaten te versterken

The article makes an attempt to answer the question: how direct payments affected the land market in Poland? The first part of the article explains the theoretical aspects of direct payments as an instrument of agricultural policy and their prospective effectiveness. Also the special character of the solutions adopted by Poland in relation with the use of this instrument was shown. The second part presents the main problems of the land market in Poland, taking into account both the supply and the demand factors of this market.

It is almost a decade now since the fights between Pastoralists and peasants broke out in Kilosa district Morogoro region in December 2000 claiming tens of people’s lives and causing irreparable losses and damages their properties. While the wounds of that dark record are still fresh in some of the minds of the communities in Kilosa, another very serious fight between the same or rather similar groups occurred this October prompting the media and human rights activists to find some ways to intervene in a bid to find lasting solutions for the problems.

Collective actions groups have many advantages and are sometimes essential, yet they can reinforce or perpetuate inter-and intra-gender inequalities when their functioning is left entirely subject to internal community dynamics and they are not well managed. This is well illustrated by the case of Koussin-Lélé rice scheme in the central Benin.
