Inclusive landscape management (ILM) is a holistic approach to managing landscapes that considers the needs of all stakeholders, including local communities, indigenous peoples, and marginalized groups. This Inclusive Landscape Management Plan (ILMP) seeks to provide a framework for the sustainable management and development of landscapes in the Ahafo Ano Southwest District (AASWD) of Ghana.

In fragile and conflict-affected settings and host communities, hunger, severe malnutrition, and water insecurity are on the rise, directly impacting the resilience of food, land and water systems. The interplay of these issues often gives rise to conflict and forced migration, with women and other marginalized groups disproportionately affected due to their limited access to channels of power and influence during shocks and crises.

The primary focus of the session was to explore practical strategies for operationalizing the Learning Alliance to achieve meaningful impact.

Potato is an important crop in Uzbekistan agriculture for multiple reasons. It contributes to food security and nutrition quality. This crop has been facing pests and diseases with limited efforts to address these issues. This rapid assessment conducted in spring 2023 helps to fill the gap in how the potato seed system is organized and functioning. We used the multi-stakeholder framework to collect information from key actors involved in the potato value chain. Our results show relatively weak ties among all the stakeholders.

This report provides the results of the first costing analysis effort of the breeding pipeline “Potato East African table and processing for tropical highlands with Late Blight resistance” from the CIP program based in Kenya. The University of Queensland Breeding Costing Tool (UQ-BCT) was used to cost out the program. The current total cost of running the project is $132,029.05. The salary of the breeder was not captured in the costing. In the breakdown of operational costs, 22% is allocated to germplasm development, while the remaining 78% is attributed to germplasm evaluation.

The TAFSSA district food systems assessment aims to provide a reliable, accessible and integrated evidence base that links farm production, market access, dietary patterns, climate risk responses, and natural resource management in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. It is intended to be a multi-year assessment. This data note summarizes data collected in March- April 2023 to describe what smallholder farmers are cultivating and what they do with the farm products produced. It is part of a pack of data notes that, together, provide a holistic picture of the food system in the district.

Sri Lanka experiences distinct monsoon seasons, the Southwest and Northeast monsoons, contributing to the risk of flooding and landslides in different regions. The Nuwara Eliya district, facing elevated threats of landslides and floods, underscores the importance of proactive measures such as Anticipatory Action (AA). AA empowers communities by enabling precautionary measures, and a collaborative three-day simulation, involving World Vision Lanka, the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), and government partners, sought to enhance community resilience comprehensively.

The workshop addressed how Anticipatory Action (AA) strengthens the disaster preparedness in Sri Lanka's vulnerable community for flood and landslide disasters, especially during monsoon seasons.
