This Decision approves the master plan on the socio-economic development of Viet Nam’s sea and coastal areas in the Gulf of Thailand.This plan aims at developing the economy in a sustainable manner; developing marine industries including fishing, aquaculture and aquatic product processing; developing marine tourism and gas exploitation and processing; etc.The main objectives of the plan include: development of agriculture, forestry and fishery; development of water supply and drainage facilities; development of gas exploitation, exploration and processing; development of maritime economy; management of fishing activities in order to protect and develop resources; protection of national parks; limitation of pollution by controlling the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers on agriculture and aquaculture; promotion of marine and coastal environment protection; and land use and urban planning.
