Le pays Bamum est un territoire de la région de l’Ouest Cameroun  fondé au XIVe siècle par le roi Nchare. C’est un royaume où le Sultan est le dépositaire des terres. Les allochtones acquièrent le plus souvent  des  terres auprès des autochtones pour exploitation. Les autochtones n’ont qu’un droit d’usufruitsur les terre qui leurs sont cédées, mais aucun droit de disposer sur celles-ci. Ainsi, les tentatives d’immatriculation de ces terrains se heurtent très souvent au véto des autochtones du fait qu’ils n’ont pas le droit de sécuriser les terres dans un territoire étranger.

Land regularization is an essential ingredient in the formalization on land rights and it plays an important role in improving tenure security of the urban poor. In order to facilitate the process of land regularization, there is need to have up to date spatial information on the settlements earmarked for the regularization process. Ground based survey methods have proved to be time consuming and costly. Thus there is need to adopt cost effective methodology in the acquisition of spatial data.

Climate change poses serious challenges to the sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture systems, with severe implications for the majority people who depend on them largely for their livelihoods. Therefore, this study investigates factors influencing the vulnerability of fishing activities to climate change among artisanal fisher-folks in coastal area of Lagos, Nigeria. A three-stage random sampling technique was used to select 342 artisanal fishers from the study area.

Ten years ago, Kenya made a land policy[1] to secure land rights, promote economic growth, investment and reduction of poverty. This paper seeks to examine how the policy has fared towards improvement of livelihoods, establishment of an accountable and transparent institutional system. The paper looks at three processes of making, implementation and outcomes of the Policy that are interlinked, yet requires to be separated so as to come to terms with what has happened to the land sector in Kenya.
