The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Local Authorities (Recovery of Possession of Property) Act (Cap. 273).

This Act makes provision for the recovery of land and other immovable property when the term or interest of the tenant of premises held by him or her from a local authority at will or for a term not exceeding three years, either with or without being liable to the payment of rent, has expired or has been legally determined by a notice to quit or otherwise. The local authority may in such circumstance make a complaint in writing on oath before a magistrate.

El presente Decreto tiene por objeto la reglamentación de los artículos 2º, 3º, 4º, 5º y 12 de la Ley de conservación y protección de los suelos. En particular, el Decreto establece la definición de suelo rural a efectos de la aplicación de la Ley, indica las funciones de las autoridades de aplicación y fija principios en tema de sanciones por incumplimiento de la Ley.

Amendment of the Land Survey Regulations (No. R. 2249 of 2001).

These Regulations amend the Land Survey Regulations by inserting a new table of contents and in regulations, 1, 4, 10, 11, 13, 19, 20 and 21. The amendments mainly concerns methods of measurement and survey, procedures for temporary and final approval of a survey by the Surveyor-General and connection of a survey to the National Co-ordinate System.
