Le thème de la sixième édition de l'ILDC en 2022 est "Global Pulls on Local Lands : Southern Perspectives". L'objectif est de poursuivre et d'élargir la portée des échanges Sud-Sud autour des conversations et des coopérations sur les terres, qui ont débuté lors du dernier épisode, tandis que l'accent des délibérations continuera d'être mis sur l'Inde.

We are pleased to announce the new dates for the Land Conference 2022: The failed Promise of Tenure Security, Customary Rights and Dispossession.  The conference is set to take place from 17-19 August 2022 online and in-person venues. The conference will be a hybrid event and is jointly convened by the Land and Accountability Research Centre (LARC) at UCT, the Legal Resources C

The new book Migration and Women’s Land Tenure Security in the Greater Mekong Sub-region draws on country-level and ethnographic research, based on a collaboration between FAO and Chiang Mai University.

In 2019 the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) will focus the world’s attention on the fundamental importance of rights to address the current environmental crisis. Linking people to landscapes, the GLF will explore the essential contributions of indigenous peoples, local communities, and rural and indigenous women and youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement targets on climate change, highlighting the transformative role of rights and rights-based approaches in securing a more just, sustainable and prosperous future for all. Woven across the year’s events, these priorities will form the centerpiece of the annual conference in Bonn, Germany – to be held on June 22–23 alongside the intersessional climate talks – making it the world’s single largest forum on rights and sustainable landscapes.

Many women around the world are working to improve their land rights. Yet the access to their land is often insecure. During this evening, you will hear stories by women who are involved in different initiatives at the grassroots level – from the Netherlands to Malawi. What lessons can we learn and how can they generate ideas that lead to more action on the ground?

Women account for 60–80 per cent of smallholder farmers and comprise the largest percentage of the workforce in the agricultural sector. Inequalities between women and men in access to land, productive resources, income-generating activities and public consultation spaces seriously undermine women’s capacity to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
