Rain, Agriculture, and Tariffs

апреля, 2013

This paper examines whether and how

show that the impact of a negative rainfall shock on optimal
import tariffs is generally ambiguous, depending on the
weight placed by the domestic policy maker on tariff
revenue, profits and the consumer surplus. The more weight
placed on domestic profits, the more likely it is that the

Looking Beyond the Horizon : How Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Responses Will Reshape Agriculture in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

Peer-reviewed publication
марта, 2013

This volume presents a synthesis of the multi-country collaborative program of analytical and advisory activities titled reducing vulnerability to climate change in European and Central Asian (ECA) agricultural systems. Climate change and its impacts on agricultural systems and rural economies are already evident throughout the ECA region. Responding to Higher and More Volatile World Food Prices

марта, 2013

Following the world food price spike in
2008 and again in 2011, there has been increased attention
on better understanding the drivers of food prices, their
impacts on the poor, and policy response options. This paper
