Pakorpa Susangho’ (Widow’s Cry) is an exploration of how corruption impacts on widows in the Upper East region of Ghana. This participatory video was devised and shot by ten widows from Kulbia, on the outskirts of Bolgatanga, using cutting-edge production techniques and equipment (including iPads as powerful video cameras). The filmmakers, whose ages range from 29 to 60, lack any formal education yet learned to operate the equipment with confidence and skill during a series of participatory video workshops packed with fun games and exercises.

This edited volume brings together the work of scholars from different disciplines including sociology, political science and anthropology, and analyses how global institutions are embedded in local contexts within development aid. It examines theoretical and empirical implications of the diffusion and anchoring of world polity institutions at the local and global levels.

Esta hoja informative es el resultado del proyecto "Promoviendo la prevención y gestión de conflictos en el proceso de titulación de tierras de las comunidades nativas de la Amazonía andina de San Martín - Perú", ejecutado por la ONG Paz y Esperanza (Moyobamba), con el apoyo de la cooperación alemana para el desarrollo, implementada por la Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, a través del proyecto Pro Tierras Comunales.

Los conflictos territoriales incluyen superposiciones de diferentes categorías territoriales otorgadas por el Estado en sus diferentes niveles y las tensiones entre vecinos (conflictos sociales), todos estos  representan "obstáculos para la titulación" o pueden limitar la futura gestión territorial de las comunidades nativas.

El equipo de la ONG Paz y Esperanza trabajó en estrecha colaboración con CODEPISAM, sus ocho federaciones y los presidentes de los miembros de las comunidades nativas, se hicieron visitas de campo en base a ella se actualizaron los datos y mapas.

This article explores the ways in which (a) Indigenous youth involved in an HIV intervention took up and reclaimed their cultures as a project of defining ‘self’, and (b) how Indigenous ‘culture’ can be used as a tool for resistance, HIV prevention and health promotion.
