Исследования ФАО по вопросам землевладения представляют собой краткое изложение зачастую сложной и полемичной темы землевладения, особенно применительно к продовольственной обеспеченности, борьбе с нищетой и развитию сельских районов. Данные исследования не претендуют на исчерпывающий характер, а скорее отражают случаи "добросовестного руководства" в определенных сферах землевладения и управления земельными ресурсами, выявленные ФАО и ее многочисленными международными сотрудничающими партнерами.

In recent years, growing economic globalisation has been accompanied by rising social support for market systems as a means of managing resource-use. In turn, the free market movement considers definite and secure property rights (especially private rights and, sometimes, communal rights) in resources to be the necessary basis for a desirable market system. Global policies for managing the Earth’s genetic resources have been influenced by this approach.

O desenvolvimento da agricultura e da pecuária na Amazônia tem resultado na expansão dos desmatamentos, o que contribui para emissão de gases de efeito estufa na atmosfera e redução da biodiversidade. A evolução dos desmatamentos realizada pelos produtores rurais é condicionada por características das famílais produtoras e pelo ambiente socioeconômico. O objetivo desse estudo foi identificar os condicionantes de desmatamentos nos principais pólos de produção agropecuária familiar no estado do Acre. Foi utilizado o modelo econométrico logit multinomial para essa avaliação.

Effective collective action (CA) allows smallholder farmers to jointlyinvest in management practices that provide collective benefits in terms ofeconomic and sustainability gains. The Government of India takes integratedwatershed management (IWM) as a key strategy for improving productivity andlivelihoods in the rain-fed and drought-prone regions.

Itfocuses on emerging endogenous mechanisms of cooperation as well as on the roleof external actors and instruments in forming or enhancing collective actioninstitutions, and enforcing use and ownership rights among the rural poor.
