El presente Decreto Legislativo modifica la Ley de promoción del acceso a la propiedad formal, respecto a la introducción de medidas complementarias para la promoción del acceso a la propiedad formal, disponiendo entre otras cosas, la modificación de normas relacionadas con la adjudicación de tierras del Estado con fines de vivienda a través de la implementación de Programas de Adjudicación de Lotes de Vivienda, a cargo del Organismo de Formalización de la Propiedad Informal (COFOPRI).

Section 2 of the present Act establishes that the patents of lands included in the St. Peter’s Indian Reserve issued by His Majesty and the sales of such lands made on behalf of His Majesty in the said Reserve are hereby confirmed and made good. The text consists of 3 sections.

The present Act makes provisions for the settlement of differences between the governments of the Dominion of Canada and the Province of British Columbia respecting Indian Lands and certain other Indian Affairs in the afore-mentioned Province. With the present Act the former Yukon Act is modernized and “Yukon” rather than “Yukon Territory” shall be the current usage standard. The present Act establishes a Board to be called the «Yukon Surface Rights Board», responsible for disputes concerning surface rights in respect of land in the Yukon Territory. This Act establishes and regulates the Land Court, it consists of 94 sections and is divided into six Parts. The Act also establishes a Land Appeal Court, specifies its jurisdiction and operation. Both courts are the continuance of the courts established under the Land Act 1962 and preserved in existence by the Land Act 1994 (Part 6).

La presente Ley tiene por objeto establecer un régimen jurídico especial que permita realizar, en forma ágil y expedita, diligencias de legalización de la propiedad o de regularización de la posesión, que sean necesarias para otorgar seguridad jurídica sobre estos a personas de escasos recursos económicos y a personas afectadas por desastres naturales ocurridos a partir de enero de 2001.
