The purpose of these Regulations is to strengthen the protection and management of forest land, rationally develop and utilize forest resources, promote sustainable economic and social development. This Act regulates the power of the competent authorities to take possession, with the prior approval of the President, of any land for any of the following purposes: (a) maintenance of supplies or services essential to the life of the community; (b) implementation of schemes regarding the import, storage or distribution of commodities by any Government department, local authority, corporation of cooperative society; (c) use or occupation by the armed forces or any visiting force (sect. 2).

These amendments, being part of a general revision of various acts relating to land, concern the regulation of land claims and in particular negotiation and mediation, duties of institutions in relation with the survey of lands, special land courts, and legal proceedings.

El presente Decreto crea la Comisión de Atención Integral a los Desalojos (CAID), cuya función es constituir la instancia política de coordinación interinstitucional y toma de decisiones que oriente la atención integral de los procesos de desalojo administrativo y los ordenados por despachos judiciales de personas que han ocupado inmuebles de manera precaria.
