My name is KIRUMIRA DANIEL KIBUUKA, the National Expert on Land Tenure and the Private Sector under the ‘’Promoting Responsible Governance of Investments in Land ( RGIL)’’. I am since 2020 responsible for capacity development of government authorities, CSO representatives, domestic investors and affected land users on responsible investments in land along national and international guidelines.
I have worked for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since March 2017 and previously as a consultant on three assignments between 2015 and 2016. The short-term consultancies entailed participation in the RELAPU project appraisal mission plus two baseline studies on mailo as well as customary tenure in Uganda.
GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is implementing the BMZ and European Union co-financed project component RGIL. The RGIL project is part of the GIZ Global Program “Responsible Land Policy” and is implemented in Uganda through the country programme “Responsible Land Policy in Uganda” (RELAPU). Both are part of the Special Initiative “One World, No Hunger” of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
