This Regulation hereby officially suspends the decision that previously granted the use of land plots (farmland, forests, buildings and moveable property) for which the effective recognition and restoration decisions have been made as compensation for the recognized successors of the former kings Ferdinand I and Boris III (also suspends the exploitation and construction activities).

This Act provides rules concerning how property passes on a person‘s death. This includes reforms which relate to the rectification of wills; the effect of divorce, dissolution or annulment on a will or special destination; and the revival of a revoked will. The Act regulates return of and compensation for land expropriated for USSR Military Bases in Estonia. It stipulates that the land expropriated by the Republic of Estonia during the period between September 1939 and 23 July 1940 for USSR military bases shall be returned or compensated for to the persons whose land was expropriated or to the successors thereof, regardless of the manner in which the land was expropriated. Such land must be returned with all the buildings and structures situated on the land at the time of expropriation, if they have preserved.

This Act makes provision for the administration of estates of persons dying outside Uganda in a State listed in the Schedule to this Act and leaving property within Uganda. If no person is rightfully entitled to administer the estate of the deceased person, the consul, vice consul, or consular agent of a listed State may take possession and have the custody of the property of the deceased person. He or she shall immediately apply for letters of administration of the property of the deceased person, limited in such manner and for such time as to the court shall deem fit.

The Act regulates marriage in Estonia. Notably, it states that prospective spouses may, by agreement, select a proprietary relationship from among the types of proprietary relations set out in the Act before the contraction of marriage by an application for marriage. The types of proprietary relations include jointness of property; set-off of assets increment; or separateness of property. Spouses may also enter into a marital property contract. In certain situations, the land registry is used for determining the property rights of spouses upon separation.

The Act lays down main principles for registered partnerships in Estonia. According to the Act, a registered partnership contract may be entered into between two natural persons of whom at least one has residence in Estonia. Notably, the Act provides that, upon entry into a registered partnership contract, the registered partners shall, by agreement, select a proprietary relationship from among the types of proprietary relations provided in Division 2 of Chapter 4 of Part 1 of the Family Law Act pursuant to the procedure prescribed in the Vital Statistics Registration Act.
