La presente Ley tiene por objeto los contratos de cultivo, entendiendo por ellos los contratos de arrendamiento rústico, aparcería y, en general, todos los contratos, cualquiera que sea su denominación, por los cuales se cede onerosamente el aprovechamiento agrícola, ganadero o forestal de una finca rústica, que puede incluir una explotación agraria, entendida como un conjunto de bienes y derechos que conforman una unidad económica.

This Regulation implements provisions of the Proclamation of The Southern Nations, Nationalities And Peoples Regional State on rural land rights and use. It applies to all types of rural land and lands used for agricultural purposes in urban territory.

This Proclamation aims at improving management and utilization of land and land resources for agricultural purposes in the Southern Nations, Nationalities And Peoples' Regional State. It applies to all land that lies outside of municipal borders. The Proclamation defines the right to acquire, free of charge, rural land by peasants, pastoralists and semi-pastoralists engaged in agriculture and the equal rights of women with respect to land and provides for the protection of such rights.

The registration of the documents (instructions and protocols) at revealing infringements of land legislation is carried out by the experts of the central subdivision of State Committee on Land ordering and its territorial branches, on which according to the position the accomplishments of the state control on utilization and protection of land are fixed and which are the state inspectors on use and protection of land.
