In recent years, numerous articles have addressed management strategies aimed at assisting forests to adapt to climate change. However, these seldom take into account the practical and economic implications of implementing these strategies, notably, supply of forest plants and seed.

One of the main causes of tropical forest loss is conversion to agriculture, which is constantly increasing as a dominant land cover in the tropics. The loss of forests greatly affects biodiversity and ecosystem services. This paper assesses the economic return from increasing tree cover in agricultural landscapes in two tropical locations, West Java, Indonesia and eastern Bangladesh. Agroforestry systems are compared with subsistence seasonal food-crop-based agricultural systems.

En este trabajo se realiza una aproximación a la geodiversidad y el estado de conservación de la costa pampeana de Buenos Aires mediante el desarrollo de un estimador indirecto cualitativo, basado en variables geomorfológicas. Se analizaron imágenes de satélite y se efectuó reconocimiento en campo para la definición de paisajes según el patrón geomorfológico.

Mediante este Decreto se declara área natural protegida, con el carácter de reserva de la biosfera, la región conocida como Sierra de Tamaulipas, que se localiza en los municipios de Aldama, Casas, González, Llera y Soto La Marina, en el Estado de Tamaulipas. Amendments deal with several aspects of the above mentioned Regulation, such as: requirements, definitions of Peat ecosystem which is a peat element structure which is an integral whole that affects each other in shaping the balance, stability, productivity, etc. Hydrological Unity Peat is a peat ecosystem located between two rivers, between rivers and seas and/or on swamps.

Generalist microorganisms are the agents of many emerging infectious diseases (EIDs), but their natural life cycles are difficult to predict due to the multiplicity of potential hosts and environmental reservoirs. Among 250 known human EIDs, many have been traced to tropical rain forests and specifically freshwater aquatic systems, which act as an interface between microbe-rich sediments or substrates and terrestrial habitats.

The « Environment and Natural Resources Code of Cambodia » (Sixth Draft – – 20 November 2016) is a very extensive proposed law (535 pages !) which will have, if adopted, major impacts on many aspects of Cambodian development (Mines, Energy, Urban planning, etc..) but is particularly important for the management of Protected Areas and of Forests and Fisheries. The code has been elaborated by a panel of experts and several working groups led by Vishnu Law Group. A public national consultation has been organized by MOE in Dec 2016.
