The present Uganda Vision 2040 lays out the general development objectives for Uganda over a 30-year period. Its goal is to transform Uganda from a predominantly peasant and low-income country to a competitive upper middle income status country. Together with the National Development Plan, Uganda Vision 2040 provides the overall leadership and policy direction for job creation and priority setting. It prioritizes agricultural development as well as tapping into the youth demographic dividend.

This strategy which will cover a five year period (2013-2018) is developed to implement the second phase of the Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy with the aim of achieving the revised targets of vision 2020.

This Agriculture and Rural Development Sector Strategy is a sectoral national strategy of Afghanistan. It applies to the period of 2008-2013. The central objective of the document is to ensure the social, economic and political well-being of rural communities, especially poor and vulnerable people, whilst stimulating the integration of rural communities within the national economy.The Strategy directly addresses food security issues, including food aid and nutrition issues. In doing so, it also treats the issues in a perspective of the vulnerable population of the country.

The National Strategy for Development and Integration is a national multi-sectoral strategy covering the period 2007–2013.

4.1 The Agriculture Development Strategy (ADS) will guide the agricultural sector of Nepal over the next 20 years. The structure of the agricultural sector is expected to change considerably with agribusiness to grow faster. Strong linkages between agriculture and other sectors in the economy will be critical to the reduction of poverty particularly in rural areas where the development of non-farm activities based on agriculture will be fundamental for the growth of an overall robust economy, a more balanced rural economy, and employment generation.

The Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) is a multi-sectoral national strategic document of the Republic of Armenia covering the period from 2003 to 2015. Its main objective is ensuring sustainable and high economic growth and the implementation of efficient social protection policies.The PRSP among others is concerned with agricultural development. It notes that in 2003-2015, the growth of agricultural production will continue to be the main factor for the reduction of rural poverty.

The National Strategy for Poverty Reduction in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is a multi-sectoral national strategy applying to the period of 2002-2005. Its main objective is accelerated economic growth and poverty reduction.The Strategy among others provides for measures for the development of agriculture and poverty reduction. In this area, it notes that accelerating growth of production and employment in private farms should be encouraged.

The Republic of Armenia Government Program is a multi-sectoral program covering the timeframe of 2008-2012. Its main objective is the sustainable and secure development of the state, by establishment of civil society, formation of an atmosphere of trust between the public and the authorities, the establishment of social justice, the pre-eminence of human rights, the unconditional rule of law, a free economy offering opportunities for equal competition, and national security.The Program provides for various measures in the area of agriculture.

The objectives of this NAP is to structure and guide the implementation of the UNCCD and define the elements of strengthening environmental capacities, enhance public awareness and mobilize active participation in order to better manage the natural resources, combat DLDD.The objective also contains elements of strengthening the policy, legal and institutional foundations for environmental management.In order to structure overall programme of the NAP, the five programme areas that were formulated in 1998 and reviewed and adopted as part of NAP in 2005 have been subjected to a series of stake
