L’enregistrement des titres nous ramène aux questions soulevées au début de la présente note à propos de la définition du droit foncier coutumier et de la place qu’il occupe présentement en Afrique.

The introduction of registration of title is certainly in our present state of knowledge the best method of remedying the uncertainty of customary land law. The advantages of^registration of title both to private landowners and to Governments and its superiority over other systems of recording rights in land,i.e. private registration of deeds., are discussed in paper given in this Seminar and I will not elaborate them here.

"Cadastre" est un mot français pour lequel il n'existe pas d'équivalent en anglais. La langue anglaise, avec sa capacité de s'approprier certains termes étrangers, utilisé seulement l'adjectif "cadastral" qui signifie "concernant l'étendue, la valeur et la propriété de terres".

L'immatriculation est un système superieur aux deux autres, pour la principale raison que l'enregistrement est fondé non pas sur les documents ni sur les être humains qui sont appels à changer de place et sont sujets à des erreurs d'identité, mails sur les parcelles de terre qui sont immuables, indestructibles et que l'on peut définir avec précision.

A Cadastre, in the sense to be used in this paper, is a methodically established record of immovable. (Land, buildings, rights that are put on a par with landed property) based on the survey of a complete district. The official record of a cadastral survey generally consists of a drawing or map and a written description of the field work. Cadastres as a rule consist of a map of the survey, a register arranged according to parcels, a register arranged according to proprietors and some auxiliary registers for easier handling. The single parcels are systematically numbered, on the map.
