This Act makes provision for certain aspects regarding debts of insolvent estates of deceased persons. It lays down rules for the administration of estates (by court), defines rights of secured and unsecured creditors in respect of an estate but provides that this Act shall not prejudice any lien, charge or other security that a creditor may hold for the securement of the debt.

This Act lays down provisions relating to agrarian contracts, giving particular regard to lease and sharecropping. The Act is divided into three different Titles. Title I regulates lease of agricultural lands and sets out detailed rules in matter of duration (the minimum duration is up to fifteen years), tacit renewal, withdrawal and annulment. Article 8 lays down rules for determining the fair rent. Title II of the Act deals with the conversion of lease into other contracts, such as sharecropping. Article 49 (Title III) provides for the transmission of rights on lands to heirs.

This Act provides for matters relating to interests, i.e. perpetuities and accumulations in (immovable) property. It, among other things: provides for the vesting of the interests, duration, interests regarding (leases of) land, restrictions on accumulations in general, and restriction on accumulation for the purchase of immovable property.
This Act concerns judicial sales of property including agricultural crop. It gives rules for the seizure and execution by way of sale. At any time, while the execution debtor remains in possession of the property seized, as judicial sequestrator, any creditor may obtain an order for the sale of part or of the whole of the crop of the said property. This Proclamation aims at improving management and utilization of land and land resources for agricultural purposes in the Southern Nations, Nationalities And Peoples' Regional State. It applies to all land that lies outside of municipal borders. The Proclamation defines the right to acquire, free of charge, rural land by peasants, pastoralists and semi-pastoralists engaged in agriculture and the equal rights of women with respect to land and provides for the protection of such rights.
For the avoidance of doubt, this Act declares that the rule against perpetuities shall apply to future easements and such easements shall be void.
