This Regulation, consisting of 38 sections and divided into five Parts, provides for the grant of land as Torres Strait Islander land. It contains the procedure for the granting of transferable land as Torres Strait Islanders land and provides about land trusts (including payments to members, land trust to indemnify members and immunity of members); code of conduct about mining leases; mining royalties; Declaration; and Repeal and transitional provisions. The Regulation is completed by one Schedule.

This notice, consisting of four sections, provides for Survey and Mapping Infrastructure Requirements for Mining Tenures and establishes that the The survey standards contained in the document called ‘Survey Requirements for Mining Tenures, Version 3.0’ have been made by the chief executive under section 6 of the Act. The survey standards contained in the document called ‘Survey Requirements for Mining Tenures, Version 2.0’ are repealed.

Item 8 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Transfer of land of protected areas shall be performed after positive conclusion of environmental audit based on technical and economic substantiation and after public hearing on the issue”.

Amends: Ministerial Decree No. 172 validating the Regulation on transfer of land of protected areas to reserve land. (2009-02-17)

Ministerial Decree No. 1015 validating the Regulation on transfer of forestland to land of other categories for purposes not related to forestry.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that transfer of forestland to land of other categories for purposes not related to forestry shall be authorized exclusively in the presence of positive conclusions of state environmental audit. Authorization for transfer shall be issued in the following cases: (a) impossibility of land tenure in accordance with previously established purposeful use of land; (b) modification of the boundaries of inhabited (urban) areas; and (c) classification of land as protected area.
