United for the Protection of Human Right (UPHR) is a coalition of groups from within the human rights milieu, established by United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone in 2002 (UNAMSIL). UPHR is a community-based organisation that is working specifically in two districts of the North-Western region of Sierra Leone. The organization is leading multi-actor engagements on land governance in partnership with the Port Loko District Council (PLDC), Search For Common Grounds (SFGG), ALLAT, SiLNoRF, Green Scenery, UNDP, FGHR, the government of Sierra Leone and Amplifier Change as partners, in promoting respect for and protection of human dignity in these districts.
The Land for Life Initiative is a joint endeavor of civil society partners in four African countries (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Liberia and Sierra Leone), supported by the German NGO Welthungerhilfe (WHH), the Civil Society Academy (CSA) and the German Ministry for Economic Collaboration and Development (BMZ).
