This Act makes provision for return of properties expropriated by the Government to their former owners and related matters. Any property or business which was vested in the Government or appropriated or otherwise acquired by the Government under specified legislation remain vested in the Government and be managed by the Ministry responsible for finance.

This Act makes provision for the judgement of claims in land, for the adjudication and registration of title in land and various other related matters. The Act consists of 99 sections divided into 6 Chapters.This Act shall apply to land in any district, area or place in Kenya as the President may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, determine.

This Act provides for the establishment of Land Disputes Tribunals in every administrative district and a Land Disputes Appeals Committee in every province, defines the jurisdiction of Land Disputes Tribunals and provides for appeals against decisions of such Tribunals.

The Nyanga and Matopos Estates shall vest in the President and, subject to this Act, shall be held in trust by him for the people of Zimbabwe.

This Act concerns the administration of estates, the ownership of which is not clearly defined of has some legal impediments.Administration shall be carried out by public officers appointed under this Act (i.e. the Master of the High Court, the Deputy Master and Assistant Masters). The Act also concerns the administration of estates subject to customary law.

These Rules amend the Land Disputes Tribunals (Forms and Procedure) Rules, 1993 by deleting the Second Schedule and substituting a new Schedule which lists fees for purposes of the Land Disputes Tribunal Act, 1990.
