This report present progress and achievement of the seed multiplication activities under the Ukama Ustawi (UU) regional initiative in Malawi. International potato Center and its key research partner, Department of Agriculture and Research services (DARS) has been carrying out sweetpotato early generation seed (EGS) multiplication at Bvumbwe research stations.

In response to the escalating waste management challenges triggered by rapid urbanization and its effects on resource use and the environment a Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub (CBE-IH) has been set-up in Ghana, under the leadership and facilitation of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) with the support of CGIAR Initiatives Resilient Cities and Nature Positive Solutions.

Despite these efforts, challenges persist in responsible digital innovation, including an excessive focus on technology design, inadequate stakeholder engagement, and difficulties in comprehending digital transformation processes.

A Gender-Smart Agriculture (GSA) approach takes into account women’s priorities and access to technology, resources, and information to facilitate climate resilience through equality and agency.

The sequence of modules and themes follows a certain logic as per the growth and development cycle of the potato crop. Therefore, it is recommended to follow the same sequence during training sessions. This guide can be used either for the training of trainers (the training of potential trainers of producers) or directly for the training of producers. For each theme, the trainer-of-trainers or the trainer should allocate a minimum of 15 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions and answers.

This paper analyzes integrated crop-livestock farming systems in dryland regions of Senegal using household survey data and whole farm household modeling. It focuses on the Kaffrine and Thies regions, which exhibit differences in cultivated land area, staple crops grown, and livestock holdings. The analysis identifies region-specific opportunities to sustainably enhance productivity, resilience, and food security. The mechanistic model incorporates factors like crop mixes, livestock herd dynamics, climate impacts, economics, and labor to simulate entire farms.
