In Romania, as well as in many other East European countries, transport sector Green House Gas (GHG) emissions are increasing fast and their growth is expected to continue into the future, accompanying the on-going economic convergence with the European Union (EU). The objective of the analysis was to assess the impact of green policies and investments on transport emissions. For this purpose, the Romania Transport Strategic Emission Prediction Tool (TRANSEPT) was developed.

Hacia 1935, la extracción forestal en el oeste de La Rioja y Catamarca continuaba su intensa marcha de más de medio siglo, impulsada en un principio por la Actividad minera y ferroviaria y posteriormente por otras demandas extra-Regionales. A partir de la tercera década del siglo, la agricultura fue perfilándose como la alternativa prioritaria para alcanzar el buscado desarrollo regional. Por ello, recibió diversos tipos de fomento desde sectores gubernamentales, al contrario de lo sucedido en la actividad forestal, que permaneció con altos niveles de informalidad y desantención.

Elle détermine les règles générales relatives à la gestion de l’espace, l’aménagement urbain et l’utilisation du sol et définit les dispositions s’appliquant à la gestion des actes d’urbanisme et de construction dans le cadre de la politique de développement économique, social et d’aménagement du territoire ainsi que de la protection de l’environnement et du paysage.

Land is an essential factor of production for agriculture, horticulture, forestry as well as other land related activities. Institutions that govern its use determine the sustainability and efficient use of this essential resource. In Ethiopia all land is publicly owned. Such an institutional setting has resulted in major degradation of Ethiopia’s land resources and dissipation of the resource rent, as available forest and grazing lands are exploited in a suboptimal fashion.

This report presents the results of a small scale household survey that was conducted in May
2015 to assess the extent to which rural Rwandan citizens are vulnerable or resilient to
environmental, market and land tenure risks and the level they understand the laws and rights
related to land. The report also compares the results of the survey with those from the baseline

This publication is a lobby material to advocate the passage of the National Land Use Act (NLUA). It highlights the ambiguous land policies and processes as factors to the degradation of watershed and protected areas in Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao Region of the Philippines, resulting to extreme typhoon disasters. Thus, this paper explains how the NLUA will address such policy issues from the local development perspective of Northern Mindanao.
