This Act provides for the establishment and organization of the Aboriginal Lands Trust. The Trust is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and, subject to this Act, has power in its corporate name to receive, accept, hold, acquire by means of agreement, or exchange, possess, and to dispose of property of every kind and be a party to any legal proceedings.The Act further provides for the establishment of the Aboriginal Lands Business Advisory Panel to advise and assist Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal persons ordinarily residing on the lands in the establishment and management of business or community enterprises and in the development of skills required for the effective operation of such enterprises.
