The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order (Cap. 35:01).

This Order, made under section 8(2)(f) of the Town and Country Planning Act, specifies classes of use of buildings or land, which shall not be considered to involve development of the land for the purposes of the Act. It also provides that a use ordinarily incidental to and included in any use specified in the Schedule shall not be excluded from that use merely by reason of its being specified in the Schedule as a separate use. Use classes include: use as a warehouse, except for the storage of noxious or dangerous goods.

The present Ordinance implements the Federal Act on agricultural lease. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the valuation of land in the Canton Appenzell-Ausserrhoden. Town and Country Planning (Compensation) (England) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 1102 of 2013).

These Regulations prescribe certain types of development permitted by development for purposes of section 108 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, which provides for the payment of compensation to land owners in certain cases where planning permission for development granted by a development order, local development order or neighbourhood development order is withdrawn and where on an application for planning permission for that development, the application is refused or permission is granted subject to conditions.

This Order amends, in relation to England only, the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 with respect to a wide variety of matters including: conditions and prior approval by the local planning authority of development rights in relation to contamination and flooding; and a new permitted development right which allows existing agricultural buildings to change use to a flexible use.
