This Act is divided into 7 parts as follows: Definitions and application (1); Approval (2); Pre-expropriation procedures (3); Expropriation (4); Compensation procedures (5); Basis for compensation (6); General (7).This Act regulates land expropriation by an "expropriating authority", defined as a person, including the government, empowered under an enactment to expropriate land (sect. 1).
Land Title Inquiry Act ([SBC 2004] Chapter 66).
This Act regulates land title inquiries for fee simple titles, for interests in land, or for government title to land. Inquiries may be initiated on application by the interested party to the Supreme Court in the form of a petition (sects. 1 and 2). In case of a contest of title etc., the Court may either decide on the evidence before it, direct any issue to be tried by a jury or defer the declaration until further investigation (sect. 17). A model for an order of the Court containing a declaration of title is specified in section 23.
Land Surveyors Act ([RSBC 1996] Chapter 248).
This Act regulates the Corporation of Land Surveyors of the Province of British Columbia, defining its constitution, membership, management and administrative procedures, admission to, powers and obligations and disciplinary powers. It is composed of 74 sections.
Land Transfer Form Act ([RSBC 1996] Chapter 252).
This Act specifies the terms of contracts for land transfer (lease, mortgage, sale) annexing the forms in 6 Schedules.
