I have been working as senior knowledge and information management officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) since 2006. I support organizations in the creation, management, preservation and dissemination of information and data in agriculture, fisheries and forestry. My work includes to develop capacities in country members to enable information management specialists and data managers to manage and exchange knowledge and data in agriculture. In this context I design and delivery online and face-2-face training programmes, in particular emphasis in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Since 2010, I am the manager of the Agricultural Information Management Standards (AIMS) website and community, with more than 2,000 information specialists worldwide.
I am a member of the Open Repositories Steering Committee, founder and chief executive of e-prints in Library and Information Science (e-LIS), program chair of the track on Open Repositories (OR), Research Information Systems and Data Infrastructures at MTSR, co-chair of The Agricultural Data Interest Group (IDAG) at Research Data Alliance (RDA) and contributing to different international working groups related to my areas of interests. I have 20 years’ experience in information management.
