The mandate of the Kenya Government in its objective to achieve sustainable development is to reduce poverty by half by 2015 and transform the country into a newly industrailized nation by the year 2020. This paper reviews the cadastral systems that have been formulated and implemented in Kenya ; the different concepts and techniques used in the preparation of cadastral survey plans and maps; and the impact of the cadastre as a source of spatial data in support of land administration processes.

At its sixty-first session in September 2000, the ECE Committee on Human Settlements accepted the proposal of the Bureau of the Working Party on Land Administration to provide expert assistance to Armenia on land administration issues (ECE/HBP/119, annex I, programme element “Land registration and land markets”). Security of tenure is one of the most important factors in fighting poverty and stabilizing communities by improving housing conditions through housing investments, reducing social exclusion, improving access to urban services, environment and safety in urban areas.

This Law establishes the procedure for the fulfilment of geodetic and cartographic works, the purpose of the Lithuanian spatial information infrastructure, the state georeferenced spatial data sets, the purpose of the georeference cadastre, the principles of its establishment and management, the ownership rights of geodetic and cartographic production. It is related to geodetic and cartographic works, fundamental rights and duties in geodesy and cartography.

Act No. 10.228 on the desertification process.

This Act includes article 21-A to Act No. 8.171 concerning agricultural policy. New article defines the areas subjet to the desertification process within the national territory. Such areas may be exploited only by applying an adequate management plan and by using new technologies in order to stop the desertification process and to improve the deserted areas.

Land tenure and the adoption of agricultural technology in Haiti

There has long been an active debate in Haiti - as in many other developing countries - over whether or not the customary tenure system constrains technology adoption and agricultural development, and whether cadaster and land titling should be national priorities. This paper contributes to this debate by reviewing and interpreting the body of literature and new empirical evidence concerning the relationship between land tenure and the adoption of technology in rural Haiti.
