This Law aims at transforming the system of public landownership into private property ownership. It is structured as follows: Chapter 1 (General provisions). Article 1 provides that the right of ownership shall be restored either by restitution of the actual property or through financial compensation. Article 2 lists the categories of citizens eligible for such restoration.

This Regional Law establishes minimum and maximum dimensions of public and municipal land that can be transferred in ownership to citizens farming, gardening, horticulture, stockbreeding and suburban housing construction related to gardening, horticulture and subsidiary smallholding.

This Regional law establishes that Legislative Assembly shall have the following plenary powers: (a) setting land price public and municipal land plots subject to sale; (b) validation of the categories of public servants that shall have the right to fixed-term land tenure free of charge of land parcels and establishment of terms and conditions for the allotment of the aforesaid land parcels; and (c) validation of the list of agricultural land plots that cannot be used for other purposes.

The Government decrees to validate the Regulation. Land survey and mapping for the purpose of the formation of special stock of land and its concession to the Cossack societies and their members that had moved over to the border-line regions, must be financed out of the Federal Budget. The Regulation establishes that special stock of land can be formed at the expense of: a) Reserve land; b) Stock of land destined for re-distribution; c) Stock of land the rights of ownership, use and lease of which ceased in accordance with the legislation currently in force.

This Decree by the Council of Ministers declares land consolidation in the Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, Marmara and Mediterranean regions; Adana, Aksaray, Ankara, Ardahan, Bolu and Konya provinces of Turkey. Lands which are subject to consolidation are specified in the annex.

This Regional Law regulates the relations connected with turnover of the plots of land and land shares in common property in the plots of agricultural land as well as plots of land classified as especially precious agricultural land. The Regional Law consists of 11 articles. Article 1 determines sphere of action of the present Law. Article 2 establishes the maximum size of the plots of agricultural land. Article 3 deals with alienation of the plots of agricultural land or land shares in common property in the plots of agricultural land that cannot be considered property.

This Regional Law regulates land tenure and land protection. It establishes minimum and maximum area of agricultural land that can be allotted to citizens out of the stock of public and municipal land: (a) for peasant farms – from 1 ha to 50 ha; (b) for gardening - from 0.10 ha to 0.25 ha; (c) for horticulture - from 0.01 ha to 0.12 ha; (d) for stockbreeding - from 3 ha to 100 ha; and (e) for construction of suburban cottages - from 0.10 ha to 0.50 ha. Plots of public and municipal land can be allotted to citizens either for payment or free of charge.

This Act makes provision for a wide variety of matters relating to land tenure and reform in Lesotho including the definition of rights in land, allocation of land in rural areas, grant of title in land, vesting of land in authorities, government acquisitions and acquisition and expropriation of land for public purpose, grant of long-term leases and regularization and adjudication of title in land, including resolution of disputes by specialized land courts established under this Act.
