Les articles de ce numro d'Unasylva ont t adapts pour un plus large public, partir de documents prpars pour la Consultation.

This report contains the proceedings of the first stakeholders meeting held by the Land Degradation Assessment in Drylands (LADA) project, which aims to develop and validate quantitative reproducible assessment methods to make them widely available and to demonstrate and build capacity for their application in teh dryland areas of the world.

This report identifies FAO’s activities concerning access to natural resources (ANR), and identifies other organizations that use explicitly or implicitly a sustainable livelihoods approach in relation to ANR. The report constitutes Output 2.1 of the work plan of the FAO LSP Sub-programme 3.1 ("Building Stakeholder capacity to improve access to natural resources for the rural poor").

La Evaluacin de los recursos forestales mundiales 2000 (ERF 2000) ha concluido, pero ya han empezado los trabajos para la prxima evaluacin mundial. La consulta de expertos sobre Evaluaciones de recursos forestales mundiales - Conjuncin de esfuerzos nacionales e internacionales, conocida como Kotka IV, reuni a expertos internacionales en julio de 2002 para considerar ideas y estrategias para el futuro. Los artculos de este nmero de Unasylva son adaptaciones para un pblico ms amplio de documentos preparados para la reunin.

Se evaluó la capacidad estacional de utilizar un evento de precipitación en tres especies arbustivas con diferentes sistemas radiculares (dimórficos: Balbisia peduncularis, Senna cumingii; profundo: Haplopappus parvifolius) en la Quebrada El Romeral, norte-centro de Chile. El sitio posee un clima tipo mediterráneo árido con influencia de neblinas costeras y una precipitación promedio anual de 78 mm en los últimos 30 años.

Comprises executive summary, introduction, and chapters on historical perspective of land tenure, situation analysis, land policy objectives and strategies, institutional framework, and funding. The main emphasis is to address the problems of the land delivery system to ensure equitable access to land resources. Includes sections on land tenure and land allocation to foreigners, environmental issues, land disputes and gender – the Policy seeks to redress gender imbalances and other forms of discrimination in land tenure.

Throughout this pocket size booklet, Land Reform Volume 4, KLA proposes that collectively as a nation, and especially during this time of the constitutional review process. The principles outlined be embraced with the purpose of providing women a deliberate opportunity to engage in decision-making as regards land-use,management and ownership.
