The present Ordinance implements the Planning and Building Law of 3 December 1978, the Federal Environment Protection Act of 7 October 1983 and the Federal Impact Assessment Ordinance of 19 October 1988. In particular, the present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to material and formal coordination of various spatial environmental authorization procedures and to project managment on cantonal level. The text – consisting of 18 articles – deals with the following aspects: purpose, definition of terms, exceptions, management of projects, coordination, information, deadlines, biosecurity, environmental impact assessment, entry into force.
