This Decision provides for the establishment of the National Committee for Land Planning and Urbanization of Areas Surrounding Phnom Penh, Towns and Provinces in the Kingdom of Cambodia and defines its composition and duties.Duties of the Committee include: protection of the natural resources of the nation; creation of policies aimed at encouraging people to take part in the economic, cultural and social development in provinces and towns; the study and preparation of master plans for all purposes public places in the provinces and towns; the control of the constructions of factories, hotels, restaurants, shops and houses, etc.; preservation of protected land areas surrounding rivers, lakes, and ponds for water and traffic usage; protection of natural areas, forestry reserves and recreation parks; preservation of a clean environment particularly with reference to air, water and noise pollution; etc.
